Joe Uhr Joins Fortress Solutions as VP Operations

Plano, Texas – January 9th, 2014 – Joe Uhr has joined Fortress Solutions as the Vice President of Operations, bringing with him 25 years of experience in printed circuit assembly, supply chain management, failure analysis and quality assurance management.

According to Brendon Mills, CEO and Managing Partner of Fortress Solutions, “I’m excited to have Joe Uhr join the team at Fortress Solutions. Joe brings years of manufacturing, procurement and TL 9000 experience to the company. 2014 is poised to be a break-out year for Fortress Solutions and Joe is here to help us scale our operations.”

Prior to joining Fortress Solutions, Mr. Uhr held various leadership roles within the OEM and contract manufacturing industries. As an early hire at GENBAND, Mr. Uhr lead the dual supplier strategy for the company, which included qualifying and managing all of their contract manufacturers, printed circuit board suppliers and fabricated sheet metal suppliers. More recently, Mr. Uhr lead GENBAND’s Corporate Quality Systems Group. Prior to GENBAND, Mr. Uhr held Supplier Management and Quality Management roles at Tyco Electronics and AMP Packaging Systems, suppliers of mid plane and chassis enclosures to OEMs in multiple markets.

Mr. Uhr has been an active member of the Quest Forum, helping shape the future of the TL 9000 Quality Management System Requirements and Measurements Handbooks. This involvement is expected to continue at Fortress Solutions as well as taking Fortress Solutions through TL 9000 certification in the near future.
